My mare has come into season and shares her field with a gelding, it hasn't been a problem before but this time she has been 'offering' herself to him and he has shown signs of trying to mount her. We have seperated them until her season is over.

Can anyone recommend a supplement for her that will balance her hormones out?

You could try Oestress, or Moody Mare, there are others out there. If in doubt, speak to your vet - there are also several veterinary options including Regumate, or placing a marble in the uterus, if the 'in season' thing becomes more of a problem. My mare used to be no problems at all, but then 2yrs ago started behaving very strangely during her seasons, and looking very uncomfortable. Imbalance of hormones can cause all sorts of behavioural problems, and is something that can come on unexpectedly later in life - thankfully it's something that can be addressed! Initially I tried her on a herbal supplement but for her it had little effect (however, I have several clients that this has worked well for), so I spoke to the vet, and on Regumate she is like a reformed character - so much more comfortable for her! I only have to use it occassionally luckily, and each case is individual, so my best advice is to see how she goes from here, and speak to your vet if you're concerned in any way.
