Just asking for recommendations for an over excited mare!

She is very strongly in season to the extent that it is difficult for her to maintain any concentration at all when a gelding is about  She is a very sharp mare and this is causing a big problem at the moment.

Has anybody had any success with any herbal/natural type supplements? I am wondering if a calmer might be an ideas to take the edge off her anyway so maybe magnesium plus something for her seasons?

Owner doesn't want to go straight to putting her on the pill so any (polite) suggestions would be gratefully received

Thanks :)

Look for products with Rasberry leaf and Agnus Castus (Chaste berry)
Ellen Collinson probably has one if you look on the website, her products are generally really good.
She does sound quite tricky though, so regumate may be the way to go :/

We feed oestress as a hormone balancer but it does also contain a small amount of calmer. We find oestress great and if you need more calmer you can add magic.
Both oestress and magic are by NAF

I agree with Jess and Charlie. I find Agnus Castus is brilliant for my mare and she has Rasberry Leaf as well. I add them to her food and it just takes the edge off her and helps her settle to anything we are doing.

Good Luck :)

Hilton herbs equilibrium, mental mare used to have the dried herb version til I found the liquid one which works out cheaper as I don't feed the recommended dose and it still works!

I have Frisky mare, she can have that to see if it helps. I got it for Milly because she was like it but not as sharp when she lived near the stallion.

Lol I hadn't seen ths thread before I pmd you. :)
