I want to start leaving my mare out 24/7 but i realised a couple of weeks ago that she doesn't wee in the field and my the time she comes into to be ridden and put away she is very uncomfortable. She was irriitable to groom and so put her in the stable for a bit of hay before i rode and she went to the toilet straight away and was loads better. any expeeriences of this / helpful tips to manage her without having to stable her overnight?

You could bring her in to feed her and give her a chance to wee then. Although I do think that if you leave her out 24/7 she won't make herself ill, she will eventually wee.
We have a mare who really doesn't like to wee in public. If she is on a long hack or at a show, she does sometimes get very uncomfortable and irritable before getting really desperate. She once would only 'go' at a show if she could stand behind the car, where no-one could see her. At home she doesn't care about the surface, so it's not that, that's the problem.
