Do you wash your mares bits? are you meant too?

Do you mean in between her teats, I do with warm water to get the black crust off. Only wash her backend if bathing or sweaty

All around the teats area, there is black crust and a small lump appeared, light orange in colour, hard, flies are v attracted to it. I have touched it and she didn't move or anything.

Is the lump only on outside of skin or can you feel it actually inside that area, I'm confused myself as what it can be
