I need to have my saddle checked/possibly get a new (secondhand) saddle. Mark Fisher has been recommended to me umpteen times but he's £40 + petrol @ 40p per mile. I guess he's about 80 miles round trip to me so going to end up over £70 to come and check my saddle which I can't really afford at the mo. Does this seem excessive or a normal cost for decent saddle fitter to come out?

Have also heard of Mark Bushell nr Grantham, think he's going to be a bit nearer/cheaper - anybody know him/recommend him? Bit paranoid about saddle fitters having had dodgy ones in the past and really need to know if my boy's saddle is fitting properly. If anyone is the S Lincs area knows of any other fitters they would recommend, please don't be shy in suggesting them

I've heard Mark Bushell is very good. I've always been happy with Nigel from T&C Robinson's, but they also charge £40 to come out, but I think it's money well spent.

I have Mark Fisher, have always found him very good. Tells you what is what. Had Mark Bushell before as has my friend and couldn't really get a word out of him. Didn't really fill me with confidence!!

No I don't have any transport at the moment unfortunately. I'm not keen on T&C Robinson tbh as had a bad experience about 3 years ago. Well I keep hearing such good reports about Mark Fisher, I think I'm going to have to pay the extra for peace of mind and as suggested perhaps I can persuade someone else at my yard to have their saddle checked too so we can share the callout charge

I use Mark for all my horses a very quiet man. He has solved a number of problems with my lot. I kow a number of people on the yard I am on now use him and have been very pleased with the results. I like him and would recomend him. Does not try and sell you new saddle! Will explain what he is looking at if you ask.
