Have posted in SY but it is rather quiet in there, so am trying my luck in here...

Anyone got a Mark Todd Acupressure Saddle Pad? As seen here!

Fab and Worth the dosh? Or just an expensive numnah?
What do they feel like to the touch?
Which is it most similar to - a prolite, or a 'proper' traditional gel pad?
Does the horse sweat excessively under it?
Is there really spine clearance?
And, last question I promise, how heavy is it?

Phew! Sorry!
Something I really need to see in the flesh I think, but no where round here stocks them

I have one...
trying to answer your questions in order -
expensive, but i like it
feels quite soft and velevety to touch
closer to trad. gel pad with foam covering!
Don't seem to have that much sweating - certainly the girth area is miles worse. It's nice and even across the whole saddle area.
The pad is quite thick all over, but the gel pads are about twice the thickness with about a 3inch gap between them making the "spine clearance". I use it under a solution treeless saddle and I get enough clearance, but it's not a huge amount, and because the spine is thick it may bunch up in the gullet.
About twice as heavy as a chunky quilted saddle pad i think, though I'm thinking off the top of my head here... I don't have it to hand.

The only thing I would say is to use the girth straps - it slips a bit when unsecured.
The white hairs/rubbed patches on my boy's withers have improved quite a bit in the last month or two, so all in all i'm pleased.

Hi,

I have one too! It's really thick and spongy and creats even pressure with the saddle on. My saddle is a tad too big (due to it being older) so this is thick enough to fill that gap, but good enough it stays with the contours of the saddle. It is not heavy but not as light as a normal pad. Think of three or two and half normal numnahs condensed together tightly!!
It's not really like the pro lite, as they are much more solid thereas these are far more spongier!!!
I really like it, so would defo recommend.
