Mark Todd or Horseware

Decided to get Toto a h/w rug but cant decide between a Mark todd or Horseware (they were the ones people on here rated the most) He is chunky around his chest and his weatherbeetas are tight in that area , he normally has 5'9, do these rugs normally come up the right size for your neddies? Also will he need a neck cover with a full clip?

I love the Mark Todd rugs. They fit my cobs beauifully and don't pull back tight on the chest like the Weatherbeetas did.
 
Wouldn't suggest Horseware on a big chested horse. If you do decide on them, go for one size larger than normal.

[/ QUOTE ] Do you mean a size larger on just horseware or mark todd ( sorry for being dim!) I thought I might look for a bargain at your horse live but obviously need it to fit

Horseware you normally need to go up a size anyway. If your boy is chunky round the chest you may need to go up two sizes and then you might find it doesn't fit in other places!
I have used the MT rugs for years and think they are FAB!!
They have loads of adjustment across the front so seem to fit any build of horse well - i have used them on chunky warmbloods and skinny TB and they fit perfectly on both.
I would suggest a neck if he is fully clipped esp if he feels the cold!!

I have a lovely Mark Todd rug for my very chunky ponio, it fits him nicely. Little monster has managed to tear part of it in the field today though - rug is only two weeks old, grrrr!!!
 
If you going for a horseware, you will probably need one size bigger than normal. (My boy is usually an easy 5ft6, but his hgorseware is a bit small and I wouldn't say he's big chested at all!) It's not just me who has found this.

Mark Todd sizing is fairly acurate.
 
Love my Mark Todd rugs cant rate them enough! Also might be worth considering Jumpers Horseline I have a TO with a neck too superb!

Echo MT - use same size as normal and fits my lads chunky shoulders, all Horseware's have rubbed and been tight at the point of his shoulder
 
Another MT rug fan here, all mine have MTs and they fit a LW/MW WB, a chunky arab and a MW/HW ISh all equally well!! Particularly love the ultimate stable rug and the heavy combo turnouts!
