What is the fit like? I'm not in a position where I can try them on him at the moment.

It would be for a 16.2 WB with a medium chest.

some pics.

Is the fit similar to masta and weatherbeeta?
These fit my WB well around the chest.

Thanks :)

I have a stable rug. The strap snapped very quickly and it's heavy. I wouldn't bother with another in favour of Bucas.

Mine fits like normal. 6.9 was 6.9. for my draft x.

I've had some LW turnouts that have fit well but leaked in torrential rain.
Love my checked HW stable rug though, had it 4 years now and still going strong.:)

I would say similar fit to weatherbeeta, they fit my WB x AA very well.

It is pretty though - I got the strap fixed;)

Can't have rugs that aren't pretty :D

So the stable rugs fit well but could potentially be destroyed by a horse that's not worn a rug in years and the t/o's leak?

Think I may stick to Amigo - my rug destroyer hasn't managed to kill it when he killed his t/o within a day of having it

I have a L/W turnout Mark Todd that is over 10 years old and still looks like new when washed. It is currently surviving weeks of continous rain without leaking. Bought a M/W turnout 2 years a go and horse lived out 24/7 through snow and rain and was so good that the Bucas and Rambo's stayed in the tack room.
The fit is generous around the neck, I've found it fine on WB's and ISH's.
I like the quality of the Mark Todds with the bonus of being similar to Weatherbeeta prices.

I've just bought a second hand mt lightweight (150g) it fits my idx really nice, plenty of room n deep too. So far no leaks in this raun either!!

I've had a few, and it lasted a fair while with our resident rug trasher! The lightweight t/o was ok until really dreadful weather, better than our amigo when new, but don't think any lightweight will take really bad weather. Found the heavy stable a bit smaller round the chest than some of the others in the range, but it is a gorgeous rug!

I can see he has lived in a rather warm environment, or are those his holiday snaps?!

My lightweight no fill MT now leaks despite being reproofed. However it has done 4-5 years service and was a good fit on my TB.

The heavyweight I had was excellent.

He's been in Dubai since August 2010 but he'll be in the UK around the 12th of May.
I'm trying to get organised because my parents will still be over there and I'll be the welcoming committee :D

Alrighty - mostly good reviews then :) He'll probably end up living in either a lw stable rug or a fleece over the summer until he acclimatizes (Jerry was in a fleece from June until about september when he moved over ) so it'll be pretty trashed :o

I have a 2nd hand MT rug, its a very good rug.
It has never leaked, its stood up well to some very hard wear, (and I call it my magic rug as its got an amazing tail flap which means I can get away with using it on horses its officially too small for in a rug emergency, as it seems to fit a couple of sizes up ok :))

Id get more MT rugs as Ive been so pleased with this one :)

I have the following Mark Todd
Fleece
Light Weight Turnout
Heavy Weight Turnout
Cotton Turnout Summersheet with mesh

I love them all my lad is not disimilar in shape to your boy from what i can see from photos and your details, they appear to be wearing well and are good on price

Note that is said LIGHTWEIGHT turn out and TORRENTIAL rain. It's bound to get damp.

I really like the Mark Todd rugs, never had a problem with any of ours. Have medium weight, light weight, few stable rugs and exercise sheet. All good quality.

I have a lightweight and find it very giving. However if it rains it gets very heavy and doesn't keep the rain off the horse.

I also have a coolex which I love but it does slip and slide about. The shoulders are quite tight also.

The rugs are nice but ensure they fit correctly :)

Fit the big cob well (big shouldered coloured m/w-h/w cob). Found the lightweight leaks though as did my friend who is currently using hers as a hay cover! Does fit nicely though so might try to find decent re-proofer :)

I would say they are on the larger side fit wise. My TB takes 6'3 but can easilly wear a 6' Mark Todd.
All 3 of our horses have Mark Todd Heavy weight turn outs as i think they are amazing! They have never once felt cold or leaked wearing them in the harshest weather. I've got a few other Mark Todds and rate them all. I'd rather second hand Mark Todds than cheaper new rugs.

i <3 marktodd rugs :) the chest is really adjustable and i haven't found a horse that they don't fit they are quite generous in size but not over sized :)

I don't buy anything other than Mark Todd for my 16.1 id x tb as they are a perfect fit. My stable neighbour has a 16.1 warmblood and swears by them as well. :)

We both buy 6'6"

Quite a funny shape on ponies I've found.
Low chest and a rather short frilly tail flap on the MW(?) which catches the wind. HW better though, full tail and chest although still sitting a bit low is better.
