Markings in summer coat

This year my 22yr old TB seems to have strange markings in his coat. He has never had them in previous years and only really got them with the summer coat change, but I'm sure he's getting spottier.
They're on both side but mostly around the flanks.
Is there anything that would have caused this. Is it just a random coat change or something I should be concerned about?

they look like ink spots which just happen sometimes on chestnuts. That is quite a lot though!

Bend-or spots? Named after a tb that had them. They do increase as they get older.
