Marksways HorseHage

Who else uses this?
I use it all year round for my three horses but it cots me a small fortune (£5.25 a bale)! It is very easy to use and there is no waste, but I think that when I buy it in again next yuear I might consider using larger bale stuff.
How much does everyone else pay for HorseHage and how often do you use it?

ive only bought a handful of their bales when Ebi was due to foal last summer as I wasnt able to get the big bales due to it going off before getting round to using it all. It would cost me an absolute fortune at about £5.70 a bale as my 5 horses have 1 large round bale of haylage per week.

have you asked your supplier for a discount if you buy a larger quantity?

Am about to start feeding small wrapped haylage to my yard- can't find nice enough hay and hate hay soaking. I must admit that my special horse Bert gets bought a bale of Marksway Timothy haylage which costs me £5.90 a week and he gets a section when he comes in- how spoilt!- That will stop when we have swapped over though!

I used it for a while whilst I was searching for a supplier of bigger bales. They are convenient, easy to obtain and easy to lift, move and store, but definitely not cost-effective!

I would never be able to afford horsehage prices full-time, round here it costs approx £5.50 a bale, and the bales are tiny! would need to remortgage

I've thankfully found a great supplier of small bale haylage, the bales are 35kg, excellent quality and cost £5.50 collected or £6 delivered - still more expensive than big bale but much better than horsehage!

We use Fosseway Fodder haylage. Normally as a yard we order between 50 and 100 at a time and it works out much cheaper than the Marksway.

i have just started using Marksways HorseHage i really like it and the horses of course just love it. it is so expensive but then i look at how much hay i throw out that the horses dont like. round here i know one place charges £6.50 others are £5.60 and £5.75.

I used to have to use this for a mare that had COPD, (there wasnt much in the way of alternatives then). I found that I had to have her on the Blue Horsehage (lowest calorie version) as the so called standard green sent her completely nutty (and I mean nutty!)
