Marmite and itching!

I heard at the event yard im a w/p at that marmite stops horses itching, one of the girls gives her pony marmite on toast every morning and says it works! anyone else heard of this b4 as my horses are itching alot this year? thanks

we tried it and it had no effect. No matter what lotion or potion we tried nothing worked - the only thing that has almost eradicated our mare's itching has been a Boet sweet itch rug - amazing

It doesn't stop horses itching - the B vitamins in the marmite make the horse less tasty to biting insects.

This is very good for sweet itch where the horse suffers from the midge's bite. More B vits means less bites and less itching (but doesn't help with the itching per se)

However its more measured to feed powered brewers yeast rather than marmite as toast is not really a controlled dose!
