Marmite

For those who feed this against sweet-itch, how much do you feed? Or what dose for a standard shetland?

One marmite sandwich a day for a chunky highland. Loves it! But I reckon I feed it as a treat rather than for his SI as he also gets D itch supplement and other things to help his SI. (Two slices of wholemeal bread, spread with marmite - yummy).

I fed a tablespoon of it but it works out expensive. A bag of Brewers yeast is better value. 50grms x 2 per day. Hope this helps.

Hmm tried brewers yeast but he wasn't fond of it, so being a bit of a pampered pet it makes sense that he likes marmite - the expensive option

Please make your bread very toasty crunchy, I've seen choke too often with soft bread! Ryvita is better!

I buy the big squeezy Marmite jars, just put a good squirt of it onto their fast fibre, no mess and they love it.

Since he took it in its pure form licked from my hand, I was thinking of adding it straight to feed, don't really want to give it to him with bread if poss. So thanks for this.

I'm not sure on amount but I'd imagine it works out expensive! I only use marmite when a horse doesn't seem to like its feed-never in bread though.
I put a spoonful in a cup add boiling water to melt it then stir it all up and add to feed. They love it.
