I've started an equipilates class and am finding it really helpful. The instructor also does biomechanics and was running a session up in Derby on Martha the mechanical horse, which i've signed up for. I'm hoping to get help improving my sitting trot which is developing now that Mr B is softer in his back, also want to try to improve my position in canter so I can use my seat more effectively, I still struggle to sit up and tend to come off my seat bones, once I've got a nice collected canter I can maintain it but it's inconsistent. Anyone out there used Martha and did you find it helped?

I have had sessions on two different mechanical horses, one series as rehab from a broken ankle, then another series after a bad fall left me very stiff and then on the other horse witha physiotherapist who also works with horses, excellent for position.

I've ridden Rocky the mechanical horse, who's stabled in Cheshire. I found the sessions very helpful and fairly challenging. I don't know how well schooled Martha is, but Rocky would do transitions as long as my seat aids were correct.

Tip, set up a camcorder to record the whole session. I was able to bring my own saddle, too.

I think Martha is very well schooled, I know she does different canters and flying changes. Thanks for suggesting a camcorder, not sure if I can persuade a friend to come with me and now worrying if I'll be able to manage an hours session as I guess it will be pretty intense.
