Has anyone any experience of the above, as i will be in this position in the very near future.
In particular interested in how they dealt with taking the horse away.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know about either of these companies but there is no nice way a carcass can be removed by anyone. The only way to move a body is to use a winch and it is not pleasant to watch so please DO NOT BE THERE. I hope someone else can offer you some first hand experience of these companies.

I've used Resting horses from Ongar in Essex. Is it the same one? They were quiet, calm, polite and very professional. Vet pts and they removed the body.

AS said above go for a walk when the body is removed, it's NOT how you want to remember your horse.

Yes it is the one in Ongar I am thinking of using. Feel like I need to be there until the bitter end but it has been said to me before not to be there when horse is taken away. Will see how i feel at the time.
Thanks for your replies.

Martins are also excellent, they take the time to settle and relax the horse, are very sympathetic and good at their job. You really don't want to see the loading, there really isn't a nice way to do it. When they arrive, just say that you will stay until the end but can they wait for you to be out of sight before they load.

I think Martins are very good to be honest, Kind and thoughtful of your feelings.. have had to use their services a few times and each time they were excellent.
