Indeed
I think a collection for some flowers from HHO and a donation to charity is a lovely idea however all these requests for Mary's personal contact details are a bit much IMO.
I agree, OH did suggest I did something off my own back for mary but I thought flowers from a group would be less intrusive at this horrible time for her. So I have donated in the flowers thread.
I really strongly feel that although it is absolutely lovely and a fab idea to get some flowers and donations together, getting her personal information such as address, email and phone number is too far. At this time the last thing she needs is a million and one phone calls from people she doesn't know - after all she does still have a business to run and a family to manage.
Does she have a website? It might be nice to email her through that.
I agree with the above poster a mass invasion of privacy however well meant is not the way forward. Donation and group gesture of flowers is quite suffiicient and I am sure will be appreciated.
You can bet also that all the kids into ponies will have already posted cards and letters to her - she'll be inundated, and won't know any of them either?
If you can get her info on line, that is one thing (not really an intrusion of privacy), but I do agree it's a bit much right now.
Cards are nice when they come from those that had connections etc, but will just point out the bleeding obvious from anyone else.
There have already been flowers sent from HHO. Happyhorse started a collection on Sunday night and sent the flowers yesterday. The remainder of the collection is going to Devon Air Ambulance at Mary's request. See other threads in Latest News.
I aree that it is not our place to contact Mary directly and a HUGE intrusion at this time of grief. Leave it be.
