I gave up with Mastas about 5 yrs ago because I always found leaks and that they tore very easily however new mare is the same size as Toffee so I am selling all my 6ft 3 - 6ft 6s and gonna have to get a couple of more 5ft 9s(bought amigo l/w).

I wanna get a med turnout for under 50 quid if I can and masta seems to fulfil this however I am wondering if the zing turn outs etc have go any better or are they still c*%p :D

Thanks

i got two masta turnouts this last winter, and was so unimpressed with them I have resolved never to buy another...

Funny cos I have a masta turnout for our gelding who loves to roll - like 10 times in 20 mins while mare has rolled once lol - and he trashes rugs and they go out purple and come in brown dripping in mud in the winter but this Masta has survived 3 months with his escapades!!

From my experience they only fit horses with a big front and without the nylon lining they rug very badly. I have two of the old checktech high neck middleweight ones and they are great if you could find one in a sale somewhere. If your horse is not too deep in the body then the saxon rug is good on a budget.

I'm not a fan. I bought a lightweight a couple of years ago and it was a wreck in no time at all (horse is not in the habit of wrecking rugs either), and it wasn't used in winter.

It's all about Rambos for me! :D

I fit their fit doesnt suit anything!!!

I like the Amigos.....they always seem to fit well and I have never had a problem.....and they are reasonable price wise too......

my problem with them hasnt been damage, neither of them are ripped or anything, its just the fit is appalling!
i honestly dont think they would even stay in place for very long on one of those plastic rug display horses :)
i didnt like any of the fastenings on them either, all seem pretty badly designed to me

I've never been impressed with them (or weatherbeetas either), always been wrecked within days..

On the other hand I have 11 year old rambo and fal turnouts still going strong and looking like new after a wash.

I always used to have Masta's - I think my horses I had then just must have fitted in the Masta's at the time!

Anyway, I had a couple recently and was really disappointed with them - so they all went. I have all my lot in either Amigo's or PE rugs now (I wait for the rugs to come up in the PE sales!! :) )

I have used masta for years, NEVER had one leak, rip or move. One cob wrecks rugs within days, never has a masta though. They don't fit finer horses though, more the big chunky types.
