So, being broken and having too much time on my hands I have been looking at matchy matchy sets... Only issue is my mare is quite a chunky IDxCob and I don't know whether it would suit her as most of the horses I've seen on matchy matchy posts on here have been big leggy warmblood types and Bella is far from this :p

She has quite chunky legs, she doesn't have proper feathers but does have leg fluff so would I still be able to bandage them? She has been booted before for jumping but I've never used bandages on her. Also what brands are good, I have been having a bit of a look but I want to make sure whatever I go for lasts as well as looks pretty.

So after all my ramblings, basically could I have some photos of your heavier breeds in matchy matchy and also any grey ponies and what colours you have on yours :)

I have a heavy weight traditional cob, I don't bandage cos it looks stupid with his amount of feather but we do go in for bright saddlecloths and occasionally matching polo shirts.

We are rocking the bright summery colours at the mo, orange being my particular fave.

Kal isn't a cob or heavy, but he is a grey . . . we are very boring when it comes to matchy/matchy I'm afraid . . . it's either blue (French or Navy), grey or black. His competition jumping numnah is navy blue with royal blue and white piping - matches his jockeys jacket and hat perfectly. His dressage numnah is dark grey with blue/purple undertones. His travel boots are dark grey, his travel thermatexes are dark grey and black, his cooler is royal blue, his lead rope is grey. He does have everyday numnahs for schooling . . . and they are - yup, either blue, black, grey or white.

Very, very dull we are. The only concession to colour I have to Kal's competition wear is a cerise summer sheet with dark grey piping - suits him too ;).

P

If I trim her legs though she would look a tad 'speshul' with a long mane and tail wouldnt she? She suits wild and natural better than neat and short so if I do her legs then I'll have to properly tidy her up and I really don't want to touch her mane :P

I'm thinking of bright pink... I am mean ;) She usually wears pale blue and has a bit of pale pink stuff but she looks a little washed out in light colours so I was thinking brighter colours might suit her better?

Feathered, your boy is lovely :)

Muddygreymare ah I see .
Here's me with my cob x ISH yesterday . I need to get him a light blue fly bonnet .

Ooo my friend has a hairy piebald cob, and she has a lovely red browband ( ribbon style) and a matching red saddle cloth wish his name on it :D No pictures but it suits him

The daft old codger used to get bandaged on occasion and he's heavier than your lass and has full feathers...

The wonderful thing about greys is that they suit EVERYTHING. Seriously:

This would suit yours OP - no point bandaging a horse that doesn't need (or even suit) it. Bright saddle cloths etc would look great though :-)

Ah JFTD I thought Fergs would be making an appearance :P So basically greys rock everything... That makes shopping so much easier... ;) Ooh the polo shirt idea is a really good one, thanks for that :)

The only thing i have matchy matchy is a purple fly veil and my purple saddle bag :o that was by default!
All our numnahs and saddle cloths are either brown/ivory or white, oh tell a lie i have a baby blu one knocking about somewhere!
I never bandage (even though cob has hair-free legs and hogged) only brushing boots either white or black

I do like the anky sets though, very smart :)

My lad is a middleweight chestnut skewbald with a long mane. He's feathered, but not the amazing heavy floor sweeping type. We (well...I...) love matchy. He does need something on his legs as he brushes behind, so bandages or matching brushing boots. I figure the feather acts as a bandage pad  I like it, but the leggy warmbloods do look better in the matchy I think. Coblet always looks like he has white over reach boots on when I bandage over his feathers :)

He wears most colours, though most of our stuff is royal blue. Also navy, forest green, chocolate. Previous grey looked lovely in burgundy.

I have a couple of HKM sets, but don't think the bandages have lasted very well in comparison to some of the cheaper ebay sets I've got...

Tayto sadly no idea all we know is that he's a gypsy cob ! Lovely temperament though he's the closest to bombproof that you get

Here is a pic of my girl

I have had her since April and she is so chilled out. Takes everything in her stride!

She came from Ireland and all I know is that she is cob x clydesdale. I have tried to find out more about her but sadly have not managed to get any more info :(

PS - sorry, this post isnt really related to the OP :p
