Just wondering if anyone can recommend any jodhpurs/breeches suitable for riding when pregnant. I'm not that far along but already finding my current jodhs not v comfy around my waist, although it's mainly bloat rather than bump right now. I plan to keep riding as long as possible so happy to spend a bit as I can probs wear them after. I tried flexars but I find them too tight round the waist already without a proper bump, there doesn't seem to be much else available. I'm pretty intolerant of anything tight round my waist even at the best of times so any kind of digging in elastic would be a no go for me.

I am overweight. A search on e bay got me some 34 waist stretch denim breeches.
I needed to find simiilar for winter. I havent ridden in riding tights and we went to a large saddlers Rokers and managed to get a stretchy pair of winter breeches, 44 . I also have an old pair of Mark Todd breeches that have stretched with age I guess. I tend to fix the waist with one of those elastic hair ties and wear a long shirt and jacket imagining it hides my tummy. Unfortunately pics of me hacking last autumn show that it doesnt do that, there is an expanse of vest showing. When I dismount, my bp and shirt etc ride up and I sometimes find my bare tummy sliding down the girth of the horse which isnt wonderful.

There used to be a firm called Fuller Fillies but they seem to have vanished. This isnt very helpful but no one seems to allow for riders with large or pregnant shaped figures.

I may now look for riding tights. But if anyone here has some suggestions, I should really like that.

Granddaughter had this issue, seems manufacturers of riding wear don’t expect seriously pregnant women to be riding (altho historically they have), she settled for maternity leggings and just kept buying new ones when the knees wore through. Good luck, keep the both of you safe and happy!

Have you tried braces to hold them up and leaving them unzipped and unbuttoned at front with clothing long enough to cover it up over the top?

Over the bump stretchy jeans or Jojo Maman Bebe over the bump leggings worked for me but my kids are 10 & 7 so it was a while ago!

2XU do excellent maternity running (Lycra) leggings which you could wear chaps with, they’re reasonable £ on Vinted but lots £ new! I wore a larger size of jod during pregnancy and then resorted to thick maternity leggings from Seraphine, which were also great to wear early post-baby. I hadn’t even thought to look for maternity jods - sad state really isn’t it! Bump bands are also helpful when you’re bigger, hold it in place when you’re trotting, JoJoMB are good for these in their active range.

I rode until I was 35/36 weeks pregnant. I wore riding tights were great, some are stretchier than other though. Not sure about uk brands, but bare equestrian are what I used mostly, and I also find the Equipad Marc breeches great too (they are tights, nothing breech like about them!).

I competed in normal white breeches until about 30 weeks too, they are very stretchy though!

One of my last rides, about 35 weeks.

I just wore my regular size and they stretched quite well.
