Hi guys, looking for advice on getting a big matt out of my 3 year olds tail without losing half the tail. I was thinking of rubbing in a bottle of conditioner and leaving it in, then working in it through, but I'm open to ideas, I need to save as much of the tail as possible 😅

The detailing serums are great for this cowboy magic or naf do one, you just work a big blob into the knot then gently pull out the hair from the knot, sprays have silicone in and if you brush vigorously the hair will break more so you loose more hair.

Having had Arab's with long silky manes and tails that tangle and break easily I find the serum the best.

I think I used Johnson baby oil. Biut as someone with long hair, I know to start untangling at the lowest part of the knot.
And before tackling the knot, to groom the tail below the tangle well, starting with the tips, and working upwards. Standing to the side of the horse, of course.
