He's SO enthusiastic

Is that the one from yesterday? If so, he said he was going through the Huntsman's Close the long way because his horse doesn't like sharp left turns; obviously Mike and Tina hadn't heard the interview because they both queried why he had done that! I love his enthusiasm, Severnmiles was so lucky working for him I think - even if she does say he rabbits on a bit!

he's brilliant, isn't he?
i was chatting to him years ago and he said that Eventing needed characters, that for the sake of the sport's popularity it's no good everyone being all serious and similar, and i think he's determined to be as much a character as possible when he gets behind a microphone... i don't think he's quite as o.t.t as that normally, is he?!
fwiw, i think he made totally the right decision at Huntsman's Close, the striding looked vile and a lot of very good combinations fluffed it horribly, Nicholas Touzaint's horse just jumped on trust, didn't even seem to sight the fence, very very lucky.

LOL...yes you're right! Yesterday made me realise how much I miss it..

What you see on tv is what you get in the flesh. I went to his yard with a friends son and my kids to try a horse. He was so welcoming and talked to the kids as if they were adults and he took a real interest in what they wanted to do for the future. To top the day off he took my daughter round his horse in the field and then the stables telling what each one had done and won. And we got the horse from him. On the basis of that if I had enough money i would put horses with him to event. What an ambassador for the sport many a young rider even seniors could learn from hin

When we had a horse with him, many years ago, we really looked forward to the wonderful lunches which Nicki used to produce at the events for us owners. Even the table-cloth and napkins were in a brown and cream square design!

He's great I went on a training course donkeys years ago that was held at his yard and he was rather complimentary about my little mare.

Deffo a fan.
