Hi, My current girth with sheepskin sleeve is rubbing my boy, it is a shaped girth, Albion, but still looks close to his elbow. I have been recommended a Mattes sheepskin girth, short girth, asymmetric with detachable cover. Does any one have an comments, good or bad. I would post a link to the web site but not sure if its allowed.

I think that if I were to purchase one I would need two covers, one in use and one in the wash, could work out expensive.

Thankies in advance.

I don't know about the mattes one but currently have 2 nu med ones which my boy gets on fine with, he prefers this to no sleeve. I have a le mieux half pad which is gorgeous and so soft so am going to buy some of their girth sleeves next.

I had loads of shaped girths, sheepskin sleeves etc including a very expensive sheepskin lined shaped one (Cliff Barnsby I think), and my horse had constant little sores behind his elbows. Got a Fairfax and Tra La - sores gone and no sheepskin in sight (apart from the rather luxurious Sheepskin NUmnah, of course!!!).

The options are endless and confusing, I was also thinking about a Amerigo dressage girth, Have tried one and it did seem to stop wrinkly skin.

I did not want to pay out for the Fairfax, it seemed like a "WonderGirth" Con TBH. But, I now rue wasting all the money on all the other options, and just buying the bloomin thing in the first place would have been cheaper :-)
