My OH drove past it recently and told me its being refurbed! "REALLY!" I squeeled. I asked him if he was sure it was a refurb and not redevelopment into a charming block of skyscraper flats, but he insisted not. I'm not sure if he's pulling my leg, anyone local know what's going on? Would be fab to restore it to its former glory, although I can imagine it would cost megga bucks!

Every now and again I afford myself a little dream of winning the lottery and bringing it back to its former glory :)
 
I've had a quick look on the Medway Council Planning website where you can search for planning applications. Is this (or near) Walnut Tree Farm? Is it Mr Rocco? There has been a renewal of an application (which received consent a few years ago) for change of use of an accommodation block and an extension t provide a 53 bedroom hotel. Planning application number MC/09/1668.

I hope I've got it wrong. I'd love to see that place running as it was meant to.
 
:( Sorry, further searching brings up more applications, including one in 2002 to demolish the EC so it looks like the right address. What a shame.
 
I'm not sure about Walnut tree farm, but Mr Rocco rings a bell. What a shame, it was such an amazing place. I went and explored it a few months ago and it was sad to think what a busy bustling place it once was, is now wrecked by local oiks.
