I had such a great day at Mattingley that I ordered the DVD of our xc round (£30). I waited over a month for the DVD (fine they said it would be that long) and have just come home to find it has arrived.
As you can imagine, I was very excited and immediately played it. All the preamble is set out very nicely (many piccies of WFP in the IN) but in my opinion, the actual coverage of my round is very disappointing.
It appears to have been shot by a couple of people with handheld cameras, so depending on how close to the fence they are, there is either a reasonable shot of us jumping, or we are on 'zoom' from wherever they can catch you. They also missed out at least 5/6 fences.
Now I think back, I realise that I didn't see any cameras mounted on platforms etc, so I guess they simply don't yet have the resources to produce anything better. I have a video from MK 3DE produced by Total Recall (who did have cameras mounted on platforms etc) which is excellent. Total Recall has been for sale for a while, so I think it is a bit of a shame that the people at Mattingley decided to start from scratch, rather than buying TR as a going concern (maybe it was too pricey though).
That said, I'm sure the quality will improve as they make some money to invest back into it (we have some video footage from TR in the early 1990's and it is awful!) and I wish them well. However, I won't be shelling out another £30 to them until I can be sure that the quality is improved.
What did anyone else think that bought from them?
