Mixed day really....
Worked in for the dressage, saw Hattkins - went in two before me, WOW she did a super dressage test, but will let her fill you in with her super day.
He worked very sweetly and i was thrilled with his test, judge was also impressed and said what a nice test, just needed to work on my free walk *MadMare I fluffed it
*
Anyway scored a very creditable 32.6 not bad for his 2nd dressage test EVER! scored mostly 8 and 7s with x2 5s for our walk.
On the sjing, well after 3 hours of waiting *YAWN*
No one to help do fences and he popped the warm up fences brilliantly, only dared me to pull him twice
but was really getting into the air - probably because they were a good 3'3.
Off to the SJing, i was nervous because they were absolutely TINY!
Well he didnt fail and pissed off with me over the first, and literally xc'ed the whole blinking lot! WE NOW HAVE SERIOUS WORK TO DO ON THIS PHASE!!!!
2 down, i was so disappointed
40 minutes, changed and ready to rock, go to the xc and had 6 to go before me. He warmed up nicely but was *LET ME AT IT* over the practise fence, jumped it once straight and twice on an angle as there were a set of walls which you either had to yank your horse straight or jump them on an angle.
Bill called 10 and we walked into the box, whilst another was finishing, little sod thought about napping and snaked towards the first, flies that and away he went, fence 3 was bigger than the sodding Novice fence, and was under trees but he flew that and pissed off out of sight.
Was thrilled with him over fence 6 a palisade two strides to a slightly narrower palisade, then onto the trakhener, well he tried to latch onto the PN fence so had to jump the trakhener on an angle
then onto the difficult fence 8-9 combi! okay if youre riding an experience horse, but not perhaps when riding something like snoop, need not have worried flew those and up and over the bank.
Galloping on to the ski jump, another alternative here but thought i would give it a go, flew off there and didnt even take a pull going over the rail to ditch - belts back up the hill over the stick fence and down the other side to the water, unfortunately you turn away from home YET AGAIN and he thought sod this and just stood right up! i really wished the photographer was there to see how high the little git got! managed to kick on and through the water and out over the next fence - hes flying now, and i dont seem to have much of the way of brakes
now do i take the corner or alternative, well managed to slow him before he locked onto the corner and away he went - all the way home.
We finished on 41.8 as we had 1.2 time (due to our rearing).
Just found out we finished 11th 0.7 penalties away from 10th
so although im delighted to think at only his 2nd event he finished in the top 20, im slightly pissed off with the little monkey for playing silly buggers whilst actually doing a super smart round.
Hey ho.
