Mixed day really....

Worked in for the dressage, saw Hattkins - went in two before me, WOW she did a super dressage test, but will let her fill you in with her super day.

He worked very sweetly and i was thrilled with his test, judge was also impressed and said what a nice test, just needed to work on my free walk *MadMare I fluffed it
frown.gif
*
Anyway scored a very creditable 32.6 not bad for his 2nd dressage test EVER! scored mostly 8 and 7s with x2 5s for our walk.

On the sjing, well after 3 hours of waiting *YAWN*

No one to help do fences and he popped the warm up fences brilliantly, only dared me to pull him twice
smirk.gif
but was really getting into the air - probably because they were a good 3'3.
Off to the SJing, i was nervous because they were absolutely TINY!
Well he didnt fail and pissed off with me over the first, and literally xc'ed the whole blinking lot! WE NOW HAVE SERIOUS WORK TO DO ON THIS PHASE!!!!
2 down, i was so disappointed
frown.gif

40 minutes, changed and ready to rock, go to the xc and had 6 to go before me. He warmed up nicely but was *LET ME AT IT* over the practise fence, jumped it once straight and twice on an angle as there were a set of walls which you either had to yank your horse straight or jump them on an angle.

Bill called 10 and we walked into the box, whilst another was finishing, little sod thought about napping and snaked towards the first, flies that and away he went, fence 3 was bigger than the sodding Novice fence, and was under trees but he flew that and pissed off out of sight.
Was thrilled with him over fence 6 a palisade two strides to a slightly narrower palisade, then onto the trakhener, well he tried to latch onto the PN fence so had to jump the trakhener on an angle
smirk.gif
then onto the difficult fence 8-9 combi! okay if youre riding an experience horse, but not perhaps when riding something like snoop, need not have worried flew those and up and over the bank.
Galloping on to the ski jump, another alternative here but thought i would give it a go, flew off there and didnt even take a pull going over the rail to ditch - belts back up the hill over the stick fence and down the other side to the water, unfortunately you turn away from home YET AGAIN and he thought sod this and just stood right up! i really wished the photographer was there to see how high the little git got! managed to kick on and through the water and out over the next fence - hes flying now, and i dont seem to have much of the way of brakes
smirk.gif
now do i take the corner or alternative, well managed to slow him before he locked onto the corner and away he went - all the way home.

We finished on 41.8 as we had 1.2 time (due to our rearing).

Just found out we finished 11th 0.7 penalties away from 10th
smirk.gif
so although im delighted to think at only his 2nd event he finished in the top 20, im slightly pissed off with the little monkey for playing silly buggers whilst actually doing a super smart round.

Hey ho.

Heres a couple of pictures from Pleasure Prints.

don't worry about the rearing - it will sort itself. he is obviously a star in the making. I like arrogance - it is more fun to deal with!!!!!!! well done!

V, he really sounds like he has a "sense of humour" and an opinion on everything!
wink.gif
grin.gif

Looks great in the pics, pleased to hear he's coming on so well.

If I'd known you were at Mattingley I'd have tried to pop over for a bit of support, it's not far from me I don't think (could have done the fences for you too!)

Well done V

We actually came to find you for the SJ, thought your time 1538 but as we were going around the SJ ring you went in early so we watched from the side lines.
Bless him he looked up for it but has loads of scope
grin.gif

Shame you missed out on a placing, good boy Snoops
grin.gif

well not too bad!
sweet pics and a good dressage bad luck about the 2 down.
Naughty sod rearing!

I dont mind arrogance either, as long as it doesnt start being a habit
smirk.gif

Ah well done!
grin.gif
Shame about just missing out on the top 10, but you should be V V pleased with him!

Saf and I were at the SJing until early pm. We went off to watch Sarah and Uv baby's xc, then grabbed a a quick bit of lunch before Saf said let's go and help BBs SJ and as we were the other side of the ring we heard your name and you were already on your way! We did try and get there to help though!

Anyway well done again and Snoop is a seriously gorgeous boy in the flesh (& photos - which our friend took!)
grin.gif

Hi C.
I could have killed him after the SJing, he came in fine, then just took off like a flaming rocket!
I was not impressed and now hes under intensive SJING training between now and GT.
Yeah bit disappointed missing a placing, but i was so proud of him in the dressage, and of course the xc.

Well done - sounds very promising especially the dressage and he seems like a xc machine. I am sure the more he does and the bigger they get the better he will be!

well done! i agree with what u said about fence 3, the jump judge over heard me say that and she said, but because its landing uphill it's smaller on the other side, how are the horses supposed to known that.
smirk.gif

I would have much rather have been doing the Intro fence!! Although bigger it was a simple brush fence. The PN and Novice fences were much spookier.

Well done BB's, Snoop is so cool
cool.gif
, sounds like he needs a bigger SJing course.

Im dreading the SJing in my next couple of Intros because it will be so small! But she needs the XC confidence!!
smile.gif

He looks really happy and confident in the two pics. Love the pom-pom on your silk - looks really posh.
Dressage sounds great too - I would love to get a score of anywhere near 32.
Well done!

I think its because it was a palisade with brush - even tho the brush was pretty big. The only thing spooky around there was going over the road, i dont think it mattered what i had jumped him over, be it the houses or the brush - damn thing just keeps jumping.
On the video i dont think he actually went through the hedge but jumped even higher lol just to be awkward.

Super course tho, ground was def getting harder tho.

You went in, then the posh looking dark bay who scored 39
shocked.gif
then me
grin.gif

Mum was like, err i dont like your chances after seeing the two in before you - yeah cheers mum LMAO

Oh cheeky boy. Well done on the brill dressage score & coming 11th
grin.gif

Hopefully he'll prove to you he can do all 3 phases on one day well at your next event

Love the photos, shame to miss out on a ribbon due to him napping but fantastic result for his second outing. Wish I could get dressage marks like that. He looks as if he needs the bigger fences now to back him off a bit. Looking forward to seeing the pair of you again at GT.

sorry, but your mothers comments were not the most helpful!

Dont you just love her
smirk.gif

YAY i am so pleased youre coming next time
grin.gif
i was slightly more flustered today, prob cos you are now officially my security blanket
laugh.gif

Intensive SJING training starts on Tuesday, A frames and grids galore! bloody cheeky shite hehe

But youre all right, to come 11th at his only 2nd event im pretty damn chuffed, and that dressage sheet - yay, i guess he can always go and do dressage if his sjing doesnt improve lol

Its easy to get carried away cos you know how well they can do!!! I was so clse to 2nd on sat that having one run out put us to 22nd!!! So I was annoyed but at the same time so chuffed to have got her round after Nurstead PN.

They are only babies after all so the fact that they are coming through the finish line is excellent!!
grin.gif

It's fuuny you are just the same in analysing your rounds with snoopy as you were with Winston.

You two came 11th at your second ever event, you should be over the moon with yourselves
grin.gif
Hue pat on the back from me, it sounds like the little monkey needed some careful riding and perhaps the breaks are due for new pads or something.

Well done
