We are considering taking daughter here, it is a fair old trek for us (sat nav says 2hr 10mins, plus a bit cos we will be towing).

Views on the course gratefully received!

It's a really nice course, and in fact a really lovely event. It is a shame we lost it from the BE calendar, but I had a great run this year over the unaff 90 course - all dressed like a BE track etc. The ground had been so well looked after it was fabulous - not a rut in sight!

I really like Mattingley - lovely venue and very well looked after. Best of luck if you decide to go.

I've been noodling through getting my trainer to take Kali round - just to see how he does. We'll see how he does this weekend first, though.

Had a great time there in May - course was fab - it was our first 90cm course and rode lovely. I used to stable at the yard yrs ago and always wanted to event there - shame they have stopped doing BE.

we did the 80cm course there back in May our first ever ODE and had a fab time, the 90cm looked a really nice course as well, we are back up there in September to give it another shot!!

am hoping they continue to run these events next year, everyone tells me it feels just like BE but, without the huge expense !

Same- although I'm going to ride properly this time! :p Lovely venue and great going, I think they fell out with BE about something which is why it's not run as a BE event anymore?

maybe will see you there floradora09...love the name..lol

we doing the 80cm again, did ok last time, clear both phases and mid 30's dressage, but, some time penalties XC so, got to up the pace just a bit -by the sounds of it, had fantastic time though :-))

yes, I heard that Mattingley had sold some of their land and no longer had enough space to run BE events ????

Hopefully will see you there, only just put my entry in the post but it still said entries were open so fingers crossed! Doing 80cm again too. Last time 30s dressage, clear Sj (very rare for us!) but major concentration lapse before the xc and just didn't ride at all well, galloped him flat out into the first few fences and had a stop, then got my act together and actually rode the next few well, before the ditch combo where I just let it all go out the window a bit and missed the second element haha! Was quite a painful day as I'd been imagining how well it was going to go- so I just didn't ride.. horses do bring you back down to earth with a bump! :)

I heard that too, when I was helping at the last BE there last year. Although I have since heard it is something to do with a 'disagreement' with BE..
Maybe it is a combination of the two..? It's all hearsay though...
I didn't make it to the one in May as I was away but am entered up for Sept, so it will be interesting to see the course/layout!

I am pretty sure as the UA has been so successful they will be back next year. I sure hope so! :)

yes, they certainly do, the ditch combo was our bug bear, as ditches seem to be the only thing he isnt keen on, (we actually jumped ditch from standstill after a bit of a tap from the whip from me..lol)and only just got a small stride in to get over second element! got it on video, wasnt very pretty bit of riding but we got over ...

I think nerves just take over sometimes and make us do the strangest things
