Does anyone know if Matuhi got up after falling? C4 racing promised an update as unsure if he was winded or had passed away ... Anyone know if he made it?

*crosses fingers*

Have switched to RUK to see if they update .... nothing yet. Fingers crossed no news is good news and the poor chap is just winded :(

Yes I also wondered as it looked like he was out cold when he went down but the fall didn't look overly awkward so hopefully just winded...

At least he is getting the very best of treatment no matter the outcome. I sincerely hope it comes out to the good.

I've stood with a winded horse on the landing of a fence for 45min before we could load him in the trailer and bring him back to the stables. Anything is possible.

Next race underway and they've bypassed fence - screens still up. I'm hoping the fact they've worked on him for this length of time may be a positive sign? Clearly being given every chance

I hope this has a positive outcome. The length of the time factor would suggest hopeful. If he was suffering it would be over by now. I don't have Racing UK, please keep everyone concerned updated.

I'm sorry all but bad news - RUK have confirmed that sadly poor Matuhi had to be put down despite best efforts of the vet team :(:(

JT McNamara has been stretchered off course after fall from Galaxy Rock in the Fulk Walwyn - here's hoping nothing too serious. Best wishes to him

To be honest it will more than likely apply to both.

When a horse is down on the track winded and suspected spinal you leave it on the floor to get it's breath and see what happens when it tries to get up. If it can't use it's backend then the horse has broken it's back and will be pts. If it gets up - magic, lives to fight another day. They have to give the horse the chance on the floor to regain their own feet as you can't see whats going on inside but equally you cant just pts incase there is nothing more wrong than being winded.

As to jockeys - all spinal/head injuries are air lifted at the first availanle oppertunity. I hope JT is ok, he may have called my horse a 'useless American ****' but he is a good laugh!

Aw, how very sad :( I didn't think the fall looked that bad/hard and was hoping he was just tired or winded and hence why didn't get up. Horrible to hear that is not the case. RIP little horse :(
