He is such a clever boy!!:D

To cut a long story short I rent a cottage and ever since I moved in (9 years ago!) it has been a bone of contention with me that the Estate Manager will rock up unannounced and will expect to go round the cottage (inside and out) etc even when I am not there.

Suffice to say there have been a couple of short sharp discussions where I have made it clear it is completely unacceptable and I am entitled to at least 24 hours notice.

Anyhoo on monday when I was out the Estate Carpenter turned up unannounced to do some measuring up for some ongoing repairs - has taken about 3 years for them to get round to doing them:rolleyes: - and Max trapped him in the porch!!:eek::rolleyes:

When I got home the farmer/YO was mumbling about bloody dog etc etc and I just laughed and said 'Good boy Max - that is what I keep him for'. I was asked to lock him in on Tuesday so they could do the repairs. YO didn't say anything more as he clearly remembered the reason for me having Max (the middle of the night incident ).

When the carpenter turned up yesterday I said to him I would like to apolgise for Max but didn't feel I could as he was only doing his job and had I been told to expect him I would of course have made sure he was shut away - carpenter understood but wasn't keen on getting out the van until Max was inside - Max then didn't so much as whimper at him.:)

Is it me?:confused::confused::rolleyes:

Good Max! Why do we have dogs if they cant be a bit protective!
Im a postlady so constantly getting barked at, the owners always apologise but i tell them not to worry, thats what dogs are for! Although i might not be so understanding if i get bitten!!

Our old bitch, who was as soft as butter (wee'd herself when I yelled at Mum once) managed to execute a great hold and bark (the bit where they sit in front of the crim barking) with the postie once after escaping :o

Jeez, he's just doing his job, as you said, that's why he is there. It's not like he nailed him or anything, which a lot of dogs might have done.

Max was fine because you were there! My dog is not great with people on his property until I have told him it is OK.

Oooh what a clever boy Max is!
The carpenter shouldn't have turned up without you knowing so it serves him right - well at least it serves the estate manager right.
Maybe - just maybe it will teach your estate manager a lesson! You might get at least some warning next time:D

Clever Max, what a good boy protecting his mummy and her house so well. I hope he got an extra cuddle and treat tonight.

JDx

Clever dog! Our Keeshond did it a lot with the milkman when he escaped at night and sat on the doorstep in the morning to be let back in.

It would drive me mad to have the Estate Manager do that and by law you are entitled to 24 hours' notice, as you quite rightly say, if you have a rent book etc.

My old landlady went through my stuff when I was away one weekend, trying to find my keys to move my car!! I went crazy at her and moved out shortly after.

Good lad Maxi-moo :D

Erm, where was Sweeplet while this was going on? Standing guard at another door? Chief lookout upstairs? Behind Max as backup? Or snoring on the sofa most probably!
