Max weight for a 13.2 welsh c

depends on the individual horse... as said above the horses build makes a difference i would say if your doubting whether its too heavy then it is in fact too heavy!
 
My daughters 13.3 section C x Arab has done workers, hacking x country, sj everything happily with her. She was 11.5 stone at her heaviest. Now lost weight and dropped a couple of stone but no change in ponies way of going. She is just too tall for her now but still keeps her fit riding nearly everyday. My daughter does ride lightly though. It does depend on stamp of pony and experience of rider. A light novice can be harder to carry than a heavier good rider.
 
Thank you...she's my Mum's pony (and my daughter also rides her) but they are both light weights, I was just told she could carry up to 10.5 stone, it just seems a bit much to me, but she is quite stocky! I think I'm just used to horses and am absolutely useless at gaging weight limits!! I tend to underestimate!!

Do you have a photo of her? Most people UNDER estimate what a horse can carry..
 
I weigh 10 stone and am 5ft 5'' - I used to ride my son's 13.2hh, but was a sec b. Tbh I felt too heavy for him so just took him for a light hack and no more.

However a Sec C should have a bit more bone and think up to 10 stone would be ok.

This is my welsh D mare who is 13.3, quite stocky. I think this picture is me at my heaviest of about 12 1/2 stone, she never noticed me up there and we've done a bit of everything together. I've lost 2 stone as I felt a bit guilty but she hasn't changed in her way of going so obviously she had no trouble.

I'll add though that I've had her since I was 11 and lightweight so I think riding her daily over 8 years gradually getting heavier she just adapted and became conditioned to it-if that makes sense?
 
My pony is a 13.2 hh Welsh A x middleweight coloured so probably a similar sort of build to a C. My vet recently advised me he could take 10 1/2 stone easily when I asked him if that helps

Yes this is what I thought, yet 10 stone even seems a lot to me for a 13.2..... but maybe not!! See not really used to adults on ponies,quite a new concept for me (except for my Mum who's 5' and looks like a pea on drum on any thing bigger) but can see the attraction they're great fun!! :D
 
Personally I think people tend to overestimate what a horse can carry nowadays simply because the horse generally has no way of objecting so people just assume "they managed perfectly well".

IMO Maximum 9 stone person + tack on a pony that size.
 
Hopefully my signature will work otherwise you might have to click on my profile- that includes 10.5 stone (riding weight 11.5stoneish) on a 13.3 (140cm- only 2cm overweight and has typical welsh dipped back confo) 7/8 section C (Arab other 1/8th) I can imagine anyone thinking that was too heavy if they saw it in RL!

Reminds me when I went to the Northern Connie show.... 'Part Bred and Overweight Connemaras' hahaha didnt half make us giggle!!
