This is fictional, so is a bit mixed:

4/5 yr old, 14hh ish, coloured (only because they are my fav), done XC and SJing, Showing, or w/e else it is you like. Proven records in said sphere

What level showing and competing?
Temperament?
General ridden attitude?
Breeding?
Conformation?

Start from £1350, as will still be green I'd presume, especially if 4 y/o.
 
Ok, thanks, I was asking as i went to see a 14.1hh 5yr old, coloured, as i said they my fav <3, has been placed XC, won showing, placed SJing, Moves really nicely, very well schooled. Only low level competiton, but there is real potential there. any clues now? [= x
 
I'd go round £2,500 maybe?? A good potential comp pony easily worth that......look at some of these dealers who sell uncompeted potential comp ponies at £4000k plus!!!!
 
£1200 for a average small coloured cob, if it was above 15h I'd add a grand on, too many of them about, specially this time of the year, I'd rather pay a bit more for one that's done a bit less to be honest for something that is still relatively young but only if it was show quality.
 
We've got a 15yr old version of this pony. Its not even for sale, and we've got a queue of people asking us to tell us when we sell it. I wouldn't take less than £2k for it. It's just such a fun pony for a child to do everything on at local level. Good safe, fun pc types are worth a fortune. On top of all the normal classes it wins, it also can do coloured classes. They're such nice versatile types. I would say £2000-2500 for the one you're talking about if it jumps ok - its only young, and has a good future ahead. I wouldn't want a 4/5yr old to have done too much though.

Did they not give you a clue re price?
 
From that £1400+ maybe still, but again, would need pics and to see it ideally as one persons perception different to anothers :)
For a real genuine top prospect, £1800+.

Only saying this as had our JA/PC pony mare sale for ages and not had one viewing. Started at £2250, dropped to £1750, then to £1300 and now £700 back old owner as needed her gone weeks ago.

Market is dire round here at the moment where we are! It's a buyers market.

He's lovely. Very similar type to ours. He is a cob type. No shame in that, they're wonderful! Did they have a price? Would be interested to know after all this guessing?

My only concern is, if thats you, you're growing out of him already...

Hence why I sked what kind of yard was it....

Being stereotypical and cynical. to me, it gave me impression of a dealers yard.
Though could just be the 'teenager' phase...but not one I'd use for an advert photo for the reason above!
 
They may well get £2500 to £3000. He looks nice and has years ahead of him. I'd want to see evidence of a flatwork grounding for that price - ability to do flatwork too. The trainers and no hat screams out to me "don't do schooling..." The elder pony version we have of this has done dressage too, with 65s in prelim..
 
He schools beautifully, not over bent, comes round as soon as asking. Stunning paces, i just wanted to know if i could justify that price for him...
 
If you like him, and can afford it, then I wouldn't want to pass him up! He's very cute, and looks very scopey. At 14.1hh he can do BSJA pony stuff, and if he is scopey he can do BE Pony Trials.
 
Was thinking about this when out with the dog! I think he'd definately be £3000-3500 when 8-10yrs, with more experience under his belt. Now I think £2500 is more like it, but would be a shame to lose him if you like him, as he shouldn't lose value..
