This is my Welsh A x Dartmoor pony:

She is 11 yrs old & stands at 12 hh. I wondered what weight people thought she could carry.?
The reason I'm asking is I took her on as a 'rescue pony' along with her foal. She has previously been backed but not ridden for a good few years, I am hoping to bring her back into work as I think she is a cracking little pony. I want her to go to a child (on full/part loan) that will love her & adore her. However I would not allow a child on her yet, therefore re-backing falls on to me. I am 5 ft & weigh 8 - 8.5 st, She seemed happy to have me on her back, but I don't want to work her if I'm too heavy. Many people on my yard have said she will be fine with me.
I'd be interested to hear what people set as the maximum weight for their little ponies.
TIA
