I finally have some - hurrah! Running a Joe Midgley camp and I am back on board Lottie - just in time - so I can do some short hacks out with the campers, and Joe will do a demo on her. The vet wants 'active rehab' - lots of transitions, posture work, canter. Getting her moving correctly. So the demo will basically be focused on posture and balance in movement at all gaits, and through transitions, which Joe priorities anyway.

Plus I finally get to meet the amazing Remy - his 4 year old, who is doing demos at some camps with him this year. Hope the rain and wind die down.....

Im off to another pole work clinic on Saturday with a couple of friends. Its been fab to go with them, as we laugh an awful lot and it really helps take your mind off things. So confidence has now returned enough that ive booked on a camp in August, and im looking forward to it, and not dreading it.

I do!

I forgot until yesterday I've entered Ben into a couple of in hand classes at a local show on Bank holiday Monday, so I'll be scrubbing the muddy mess and trimming him up most of Sunday ready for Monday. We need all the practice we can get before the royal welsh in July. I'm worried the environment might be to much for him, although trying to ease him in gently with a class in the horse ring before the main ring class on cob day morning.

I'll take Robin on a little hack tomorrow afternoon and ride again in the field on Saturday.

ETA - just heard show is likely to be cancelled due to very low entries - anyone fancy entering a few classes?

Glad things seem to be moving in the right direction with the rehab AE.

I keep forgetting it's a Bank Holiday weekend! No horsey plans this week. I might be doing a confidence boot camp day next week so watching my budget a bit, much as I would like to step up the frequency of my riding and the instructor is worth every penny 70 quid a pop adds up very quickly.

There's a BE event nearby so may go to watch that.

Can I join in please? I’ve never posted in here before, but I’d love to be part of it. I’m going to be driver and groom for my daughter and her lovely horse at Mendip Plains BE on Monday. And on Saturday we’re going horse shopping, so very exciting all round! Let’s hope the sun shines for us all 🤞

Had some work done on my fields, more being done including land drainage so BH has been dispatched to my friend for livery, possibly for a long time! Having new fences too.

I can use the time to tackle other domestic tasks!

BH will be ridden, schooled and possibly even competed whilst away.

Having joined in last week to tell you about my daughter competing in the Scottish team at Pickering Grange, I thought I would join in again and see what those of you that compete, are up to.
The dressage was a great success with our ROR mare coming 6th overall in her two combined tests. Possibly the only ex racehorse there. Fantastic weekend of fun.
This time it’s the granddaughters who are off for a fun weekend doing Junior BS at Aintree called Party on Ponies. Another long journey from Scotland and missing school on Monday as it’s not really a bank holiday up here. The schools, luckily are very supportive of our girls competing.

After a solitary run out at an unaff dressage a couple of weeks ago, I’ve taken the plunge and registered my big lad with Dressage Ireland again. Hoping to get more than 3 months out of our membership this time… so off to do a couple of prelim tests tomorrow. BD7 and DI 18. I def prefer the DI test 😂
I feel oddly nervous! The venue is very local though so it’ll be fairly stress-free from a travel POV, and I’ll probably be flying solo - eek

Had a lovely ride on the South Downs this morning, with a nice blast to start the weekend off! Tomorrow we have a jumping lesson, eek! Have popped a couple of X poles at home in the last few weeks (which was the first time jumping for 2yrs!) and he was ace, so fingers crossed for tomorrow. Hoping we can then get cracking with jumping, his first time XC is on the list pending the outcome of tomorrow!

Mine has recovered from January's stifle injury but is now mildly bilaterally lame behind due to hock arthritis which has significantly worsened despite various treatments. Can't have them injected due to lami risk so trying a new NSAID. He's 17 so a quieter life is on the cards. He looks more comfortable already but no more competing for him - if he can be gently hacked that would be great. He's out 24/7 so gets a lot of movement.

Luckily this weekend is busy with BE so if anyone is competing at Blindley Heath, let me know your number as will perk up my days of sitting in a field hopefully ticking every one as clear!

Enjoy those of you who are out and about.
