My very first and last!

Ok here it goes:

Murphy 17.1HH 8 year old gelding. Excels XC and HT - bold jump. 100% traffic/catch/box/shoe. Snaffle mouth. Schooling needs attention as this is not an area I excel in. Ideal hack or fun RC horse. Has restored my confidence after 4 year break. Lives in or out.

I am thinking of asking 2500 - 3000

How realistic would you guys say this is and how much would you pay?

I have been thinking of it a lot - I have just found out that Im going to be made redundant soon, and now having to look for a new job etc its putting pressure on all my free time and Im just not having time to go down there enough - so he's missing he one to one attention he deserves, which makes me feel awful. Plus I worry that if I dont get a job quickly enough I'll have to compromise on his care, which I just couldnt do...

I'd say your figures weren't a million miles off...perhaps even a little more as he's a big horse and can carry a heavier rider

Thanks Jubbily - forgot to say he has a conformation fault, I think its sickle hocks (but only in one side or at least thats how it appears) hence me asking not much as I know it puts people off sometimes.

Oh no I cant believe you are selling him, I love him, so handsome!

I remember you saying something about how much you paid for him LOL.

I think you could easily get £3500, probably more! He is only 8 afterall.

He is of unknown breeding, but is a MW. I would say an IDxTB to be safe.

Im glad you guys like him - he's a fabulous horse.

I was going to say Irish TB with a touch of ID....stunning looking boy x

Well, why not offer to have him on Loan?????

Could work.......

I wouldnt mind putting him out on loan, but Im afraid it would need to be somewhere I could get to to check on him once a week. Im still an overprotective mummy!

oh I can't believe you're thinking of selling him. I remember you posting his price a few months back (or maybe it was a pm to me?!!) and I was going to look at the place you got him from because I liked him so much. I think he should be put up for £3500. I'm hoping it doesn't come to this as he seems perfect for you. If you can go the loan or sharer approach then that might be best, you might regret selling him later but that's just my opinion based on what you have posted before.

In my heart I hope it doesnt have to happen too WB, but I also know that if it has to, then it will be for his own good. At the mo Im rushed off my feet and even when Im not I always feel I should be doing more to sort out the future :S

In an ideal world Id find a competant, caring loanee who would love him as much as me and I could rest easy knowing he's someone's no1 priority

sounds good doesnt it?!

If you are serious about selling him I might be interested. He looks and sounds lovely and I've got a lovely caring home waiting for the right neddie

Whereabouts are you?

You should get £3500 easy, so would be asking £4000 (buyers always want to knock you down a bit

). He sounds and looks a cracking sort.
