hey, my horse has been put on bute due to swelling on sheath and belly (poss liver ). But the only thing is he wont eat his food with it in,:o May sound really silly but has anyone got an ideas how to give it to him? Thanks x

Either try Danilon from the vet which is slightly more palatable or ask the vet for a nice big syringe (or buy one at the feed shop) and mix it into a paste with honey or molasses or natural yoghurt and administer like a wormer :)

TBH I often just go straight for syringing as I know they have had the whole lot and I don't have to worry about wasting expensive drugs!

ETS: And I hope your lad is feeling better soon.

You could dry adding some apple juice to the feed to help disguise it?

Mix it with some water and syringe it in: pref with a bucket of something yummy ready to a) catch any he manages to spit out and b) so he associates the syringe with nice food. :)
