Today Boris, my 17 month old JRT had wonderful runabout and getting tough n tumble with another dog Ben who's is a light weight but 3 times bigger than him. They have been eating grass aswell (it's normal)

All this evening Boris had been hunching and throwing up every 10-20 mins.... just bile (white froth), he's also shaky, very quiet. He seems not to be able to get comfortable... a case of belly ache? He keeps sleeping in akward places (not where he normally sleeps) also one of his eyes is blood shot, there is a mark on his eyelid I was bit worried he may have a knock on the head by Ben??

It's out of character for Boris as he normally eats grass then throw up then back to normal hyper self.

I am tempted to take him to vets but as profoundly deaf person i can't call them in emergency so would have to get neighbour to call them also it's matter of availablity of the vet (small practice)

Hope someone can tell me there's nothing to worry about or give me advice?

Thanks in Advance.

One Worried Mummy!

I think I would ask the neighbour to call the vet for you. Poor little dog sounds very unhappy. Fingers crossed its nothing awful but best to get him looked at sooner rather than later.

Really sorry but I would be taking him to the vet just in case - if he has thrown up several times. But do bear in mind I am a fond owner and always err on the side of caution!

I think it would be worth getting the vet to check him over too, not worth risking it. Hope all goes well.

I think if I were you I would ask your neighbour to ring the vet - better to get some advice.

Even though your vet practice is small I'm sure they have some kind of emergency cover. Where I live several small practices operate a joint emergency cover between themselves

update - Neighbour had spoken to vet, He says he may have over done himself as he got mild heart problem (his heart is round rather walnut shaped), and his gums are still good pink. He had since settled down and is sleeping comfortably. The vet has given me his text number so i can text him anytime if i am worried. Boris will be visiting the vet tomorrow morning for check up.

Thanks for the update SevenOceans, I was wondering how he was - hope everything is fine when he has his check up tomorrow
