Well after having a week of "not really sure I want to do this horse lark anymore" thoughts running through my head, I decided to go Sjing this morning at Vale View, just to try and have some fun!!

Wasnt too hopeful as last time there we managed to have 4 down...

And he hadnt jumped at all for approaching 2 weeks.

Got there in the pooring rain and met Icestationzebra to thankfully find they were warming up indoors
smile.gif
Entered the Intermediate and Open classes, put my number down, and mooched off to tack up. Wandered down to the warm up to find I was the next but 2 to go!

So quick shimmy into canter popped the upright and oxer in the warm up, and surprisingly G horse was feeling really fresh and being very sweet into the fences, not doing any backing off "whats a fence" lark

Learnt the course and went in, to jump a clear round
smile.gif
Very pleased with him, made all the distances easily, and just felt like he was really trying, so was
smile.gif
Jumped off and thought would put my foot down and test him and he was fab
smile.gif
Really answered all my questions including an "impossible" turn
tongue.gif
, q a chorus of "good boy!!" from me and spectators as he cleared it
wink.gif
, unfortunately just got in deep to a skinny oxer so had 4 faults, but was fastest JO by 3 seconds, including ponies!!

So came 3rd

Was still raining and was a bit
crazy.gif
about jumping again, but had a few minutes to laze around, hopped back on again and went in last in the class
smile.gif

He was super, really tried for me, learnt from having the skinny down last time and took a stride out
blush.gif

and gave a fab feeling, and came home clear, to an anouncement that we were the only clear in the class so had WON it

So now feeling quite

about things for the time being, and was just what I needed to get back in the swing of things
smile.gif
Was so pleased with my boy
smile.gif
And he managed to gain himself a few fans who absolutely adored him, and wouldnt believe me that he isnt great SJing

Sorry, a bit self indulgent, but thanks for reading

Hi K, i'm back home now after being in your neck of the woods for all last week.

I am curently going through the "no motivation to compete" phase at the moment. Boo is being let down as I am away again from next Sunday for a week! However, I know it'll only take one outing to give me a kick up the arse and get me in my stride again.
wink.gif

I'm pleased for you that G gave you a great ride, it's nice to have that feeling again
cool.gif
Well done to you both
laugh.gif

Thanks Thistle

Hattikins, yeah I do when he is in that mood
tongue.gif
chuffed to bits with him though, as was thinking how crap our Sjing record is over anything bigger than 90cm, and he threw that out the water today at least anyway
smile.gif

Welldone,

i have never beeen to vale view, what is the surface like, and are there any scarey fillers, bushes, flowery things????

Hi, yeah they are all Jump for Joy fences so the usual Jump for Joy fillers, they can cause probs!! They normally dress the fences too. the surface is fab, really great to jump on and one of the best in the area IMO. Is our local centre. If you go to www.photokinesis.co.uk and looks at the photos for VV they will give you a good idea
smile.gif

Yay, well done to you and Tonto, looks like my OH won't be getting him as a hunter then?
wink.gif
I'm so glad you've got your get up and go back; mine will be there to join yours after a week on the beach (oh sorry, didn't mean to drop that into the conversation AGAIN!)
tongue.gif

They do indeed, is the first time he has cantered round with his head in for ages
tongue.gif
Surprising what rain in the face can do
grin.gif

You can still swap them, but ONLY if you do it before our class at Eland (the intermediate) take G round and do a double clear
tongue.gif
fair?!
