Sadly losing my yard and fields due to LO selling for housing Luckily found myself a field, mine to do as I want with, and right on the edge of the local forest park!
I've got a lot of mayo mats left over now, well not mayo branded, but that kind, the rigid dense foam type, not the floppy rubber type.
Would I be mad to think I could lay these down in the gateway/around the water trough, anchor them down with some big ground spikes of some kind?
In my mind, it works, they're not slippery when wet, not likely to sink like a grass mat, and provides the horses a small dry-er area in high traffic area, like a mini hard standing (god I'm going to miss my current stone hardstanding ). Long term I'd probably look to put something more conventional in place, but I don't want to invest right away in case something doesn't work out.
But I could be missing something obvious, so sanity check please!
