mcgenis bit

can work well on a strong horse, can also be a tongue shredder!! other options available. tried a waterford? bit noseband combination? depends on what the issues are or if this is just a discussion?

I have found that it makes horses more light in the hand, except my horse, to whom it makes not a blind bit of difference!
He has never had a sore mouth whilst I've had him, but I'm sure this bit could do some damage in the wrong hands.

My horse absolutely hated it, it made him positively dangerous, put him in a Myler LS combo in the end which he did go happily in.

I think it's the squared off shape of the mouthpiece creating pressure points rather than the rollers that increase the severity.

Also, I think it's called a Magenis.....
