Toto's had his first McTimoney treatment today, she said he might be stiff tomorrow but he shouldn't be lame and we'd be ok going to the show as long as no jumping and only do a few classes (me and my sister will each do neatest and cleanest and style and appearance on him) What were your horses like the day after their McTimoney? Also, she said not to jump him for a week. I've got an xc rally next saturday, will he be ok to do it?

it varies... sometimes it wipes them out a bit for a day or two (same with me!) it's the best treatment i've ever found though. who did you have, out of interest? thankyou.
next Sat should be fine, just give him an easy few days, play it by feel.

Thanks, we'll take it easy tommorow, no laps of honour for me

If he's really stiff then we won't go. We had Kate Lord. We'll only gently school and hack him next week with a day or two off.

Suggest you phone up your lady, and check what she thinks about XC next weekend. I have mctimoney done on my ponies, I know my lady will only put a pony off work if it had significant problems, maybe best to check with her, she might think XC too much to start off with. I think it's a wonderful therapy for "mending them"

Ditto!

Both my boys had it over the last 2 weeks, their follow up treatment is on the 11th.

Lance was very stiff for about 4 days, but he is almost 19, Beau was a bit stiff the day after, but not too bad.

I totally agree though, it is by far the best treatment Ive ever found too.
