Well me and Major went down to have a little jumping lesson with a friend of mine who professionally showjumps. He's been doing so well, i've taken him to her a couple of times now and he's progressing really well. His canter has come on a lot, he still hollows but he's getting there!
Anyway this week we stepped it up a little, un-fortunately she didn't video all of it as he threw some real cracking jumps! He's really learning what he has to do with his little feets! We started with a few x-poles anyway, here are a few stills.
Then she put up a little straight, that was smaller than the X we'd been jumping, he's popped over this in previous lessons to. I came round he corner same as normal, nice forward canter sat up and waited for the jump, on a good stride... didn't feel any different to normal then suddenly this happened!
The duck left that you can see here was the killer, if he'd just stopped i would of been fine but i was all ready to go over the fence (with the horse) then he decided rather than take off he'd duck out! And off i went!
So that wasn't so good, especially not when i bravely hopped up and jumped back on came round to do it again and the same thing happened!! little sod! But anyway i bravely (AGAIN) jumped up (in a little more pain the second time) and got back on and he popped it lovely! And a hole up from this! Un-fortunately she'd put the camera away by this point to concentrate on instructing lol.
We finished on a lovely forward jump over hole 4 on the polyjump, which is a decent fence for a lickle racehorse who's only jumped a handful of times. He's very clever (apart from dumping me!) and has a lovely jump he's such a trier! We've just got to tidy up his dangly legs, but he really uses his shoulders.
So there you go, bit of entertainment for you all on a Friday night... and for a little more entertainment here's the video!
