Every time I take buggar lugs (yes that would be Mackenzie) back to his field (which is through the yard main gate, past the car park into the one of the front fields) he knows which is my car.

He always has to stop, press his nose against the windows, nudge my mirrors out of place, nibble my wiper blades, sniff every angle and then given half the chance, proceed to knee nice little dents into the side of my little orange car....charming horse that he is.

It is however admittedly my own fault, because on a couple of occasions last month when taking him back to the field, as a treat I’d stop at my car and grab him an apple out of my glove box rather than giving him one over the field gate where the other horses are, honestly this horse is like an elephant, he never forgets, his brain is like a sponge.

Last night walking him past my car was rather funny though, I had to laugh as he refused to budge, looking longingly through the windows, then at then me, then nudging the car, then me, until I got my keys out of my pocket, well his little face lit up like a Christmas tree, honestly all his birthdays had come at once.

So I opened every door and including the boot, just so he could inspect the inside of my car to prove there was no apples or polo’s hiding in there with his nam on thm *evil laughs* the pure buggar looked mortified, his little face dropped with disappointment, honestly it was a picture :D then looked at me in pure disgust .....while I stood laughing at him.

He then proceeded to sulk over the field gate when I put him away waiting in anticipation, every time I jingled my keys at him his little face perked up in excitement.

Bad mother, bad bad mother :D :o

i know we all tend to personify our horses too much but i swear they do these faces on purpose half the time!! :D just like i'm sure half of them secretly understand english and like to have us on XD

Now that is animals cruelty! Poor ickle Mackenzie, send him to me this instant! :D

Well I doubt I'll have any problems getting him my Fiant Punto, horse box or trailer.... there could be issues there but a car, he'd be straight in it, could be a bit of a tight squeeze mind, but I'm sure I'll fit him in some how! :D

Oh, you want cruel? I put Henry out overnight in t'big field with a muzzle on and brought him back to the sparse one this morning.

Having put his feed down, I went round the corner to put chloe's down and heard lots of stamping and snorting. Nasty evil mother had forgotten to take his muzzle off and I found him practically crying, with slop all over the muzzle! :D

You evil person! Getting his hopes up like that. Nasty mammy. :D

I totally agree with this! I am positive they understand us! A while ago when I had my old horse I had to quickly shove him into someones stable as there was a loose horse on the yard and I went to help. While doing this I said 'Dont have a poo I dont have time to clean it out!' Well of cource I went back to get him to find him with a 'cheeky' expression on his face waiting for me to come round the corner, and did one of those lip curls as if he was laughing at me,I had a look in the stable and he had spread a massive poo around the stable that was clean; he was in there for 2 minutes!
