ME Horse has let me down again loading in trailer

I have spent all week,practice laoding my horse,as he is unpredicable,been going in fine,came do day of comp the trouble starts!
i have feed him in the trailer,put haylage in the trailer,stood there with patience till he wants to go!! blocked his escape route,backed trailer into crew yard. and i have been part of a demo ?
at end of my nether I have had this horse all its life never a bad experience!
help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you were unconsciously different because you knew this was for real, and he picked up on it and played up accordingly? They are very good at reading body language, even if we aren't aware that we are giving out any signals at all.

Maybe try doing some short practice journeys to somewhere for a really nice hack so he comes to associate trips in the trailer with going to fun places?
