Has anyone taken a mare to Meadow Stud ?

I'm thinking of taking my Danish Warmblood (the grey in my sig) here to be put in-foal to Libro next year. She was inseminated 3 times in 2006, but without success. The stud she was at could not find anything wrong with her, although they didn't look into this in real depth. I've been told that Meadow Stud specialises in hard to get in-foal mares.

Meadow's vet is excellent, so would be a good choice. He truly is a specialist repro vet, and has been one for 30 years. He and I are working together on some fertility projects, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Thanks for that

I have only heard good things about the stud!

Well I can tell you all the mares and foals look lovely, I quite often sit in the pub opposite admiring them, they have a particularly nice palomino foal in atm and a lovely dark bay foal with 4 white socks.............gorgeous!

Sorry completely random and not helpful i know! lol!

My mare has been there this year and last year. I cannot recommend them highly enough, they are totally professional and caring, and friendly too.

I also happen to think that Libro is the mutts

He certainly did the biz for me in siring Yoghurt!

there very good and are probably one of the top studs in the country and at the top of the industry and the team are very experienced

Hmm, you have got me thinking now. They take mares from outside stallions for AIing. And the livery is alot cheaper then I was paying with my vet. Maybe I should send Hattie up to them next year. If they can't get Hattie infoal I don't think anyone can.

Thats exacly my thoughts too. It is the best place I can send Lottie, and if they don't get her in-foal, then thats it I shall give up on her

Also as you've said their livery is very reasonable.

John doesn't do much any more though does he?
I agree Sven is good, but I don't no Vici vets so can't compare them.

I think it is so important if you find a stud you trust, where the horses come back to you in good condition and the stud has a good vet. Peace of mind is worth everything when you send your mare away. Mine has been away twice, she comes back looking a picture, they have their feet done for you without asking and she got in foal 1st time both times. Can't ask for more.

I thought this Sven was an orthopaedic specialist?
I said B was the best leg man about, that is nothing to do with bones so you cant really compare them in that respect.
Im pretty sure thats where B refers his kissing spine ops.

I still get John when I ask for him and I always see him at the clinic but couldn't really tell you how much he does because Chris is my regular vet and I usually have Caroline if Chris isn't about, although I have tested all the vets out there

and they are all really nice.

B is a very good vet, when you can get him, he is a little bit hit and miss to get hold of if you have an emergency.

I said legs, not bones!

Orthopaedics is not just bones you know... orthopaedic surgeons and consultants deal with problems with the musculoskeletal system which includes bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments etc... thus, I am pretty sure that legs are covered by orthopaedics. Osteopaths are bone doctors. Having worked alongside Brendon for some time now, I'm pretty sure he would say that he's not a leg specialist... he is however, a very good vet... when you can get hold of him (HG)

I never said he was a specialist, I was simply alluding to the fact he can grade a tendon injury from 10 paces away!
I know exactly what you mean, he showed up 6 weeks late to geld one once
