Measuring saddles

Hi,

The saddle I have atm fits fine, but have decided to treat myself and get a dressage saddle. Are all companies medium wide saddle the same size? And is there anywhere I can find out what the actual measurements are for saddles?
For example I have found a Albion SLK for sale 17 1/2 seat and medium wide fit, how many inches is this saddle so I can compare to my current saddle?

Also, does anyone know what the wide fit measurement on a wintec saddle is d ring to d ring?

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!
 
When I get home I'll measure my wintec for you. Also if you mean total length (from front to back), of saddle they all vary as I had difficulty getting one for my horse. If you go for wintec the old models are about 19 1/2 inches long for a 16 1/2 inch seat saddle. And about 20 inches length for a 17inch. However the newer pro and newer isabel werths come up 1 -1 1/2 inches longer.
 
No they are not all the same and I find they vary a lot, which is why I use a saddle fitter as its a mine field and will only cost another 50 quid or so which isn't THAT much when you consider the price of saddles!
 
But the tree of every saddle is a different shape so just because the width d to d is the same certainly doesn't mean it'll fit, especially since the position of d rings varies between manufacturers!
 
The position of dee rings can vary from one saddle to another that is otherwise identical! You really need to be prepared to sell on if it's not right and to really know what to look for to determine whether it fits or not.

Tree widths on English saddles do have a British standard but that has a 10 degree leeway on each width, plus the flocking can affect how it looks and fits. Points can be a different length and will fit different shapes of horses. Sooooo many variables.
