So this is a very rare competition report from me. I'm afraid I'm not a warts & all type of person, I'm quite capable of bashing myself over the head on my own when things go wrong!!!

Anyway last year was rubbish. My lovely promising youngster had all sorts going wrong and I took the decision to turn him away. His stable is now occupied by a ginger ferrari dressage schoolmistress, that I am very privilaged to have on loan.

I won't lie, it's taken a while for this duffy amateur to get to grips with her. But we have plugged away and with a lot of help things have started to really come together over the last month. She has felt amazing.

I had always planned to make our Medium debut this weekend, at the BRC Area qualifiers. So was really looking forwards to it given how well she had been going.

My confidence rapidly drained when on Friday she came into season, she was beeing floozy of the century and was declaring her undying love and desire to have babies with a 14hh coloured JA pony to anyone willing (or unwilling) to listen. PANTS :(

Oh well, the show must go on!

The love stuck dressage diva not only had to contend with period pains but also tests on grass!!! She really struggled (slipping), bless her, and although guarded over her back and much more tentative in her movement, she tried her heart out and was ultra obedient throughout.

Her HP accuracy was good, and we hit all our markers - which is a huge achievement for me as she tends to take over and go too steep. One walk piri was fab, the other acceptable. I made it all the way across the long diagonal sitting the medium trot, although did get to about X and need to dig deep to find my core muscles!! (thanks Acavello sticky seat saver). We were on for a stonking extended walk but unfortunately broke for a 4.

We only went and blooming well won!! 65.5% and 11 marks clear of the next!! So it's off to the BRC Nationals for us :)

Thanks for reading. Unfortunately nothing nice to offer as I'm on a diet in an effort to ride better!! Can offer Ryvita if you like?

Well done, you must be thrilled :)

She is absolutely gorgeous. i feel your pain about the slipping, I cant believe it was that bad. I'm so pleased to see how well you did because you both looked lovely :D

Thanks guys! I am my own biggest critic, but even I was generally pleased with how I presented the test!! Happy days :)

Vickijay - your Spotty girl is just as breathtaking in the flesh as in the photos, a real keeper!

Aww thanks. She was mostly a little monster because she thought there was going to be cross country based funtimes, she was very confused and cross when I took her home without any jumping!!

Will you be keeping your mare a while? She really was lovely. What are your other plans for her?

I'm hoping to keep her for as long as the owner allows me to!! Every day is a bonus now :)

I'm planning some music with her, ele petplans and may see if I can get sheets for medium too. But most of all just enjoy her!
