A day of two halves on Sunday! The weather forecast was abysmal but we set off in sunshine so I was feeling confident that they were just being dramatic
, as it turns out they were not
.
Topaz however put the final nail in the confidence coffin with the stroppiest warmup we've done for a fair while... We had lots of squealy bucks, teeth chomping and head tossing
. So this along with the downpour that had started I was not feeling confident but more what am I doing here! We were there though so in we went to the first test E53 and it wasn't great, very distracted on Topaz's part with lots of whinnying. Came out dissapointed as she's finding the work so easy at the moment I was feeling a little at a loss, put her away and the odd behaviour was slightly explained when she did the longest wee ever. Poor beasty had done the test with her legs crossed shouting "I need a weeeeeeee"

Picked up our sheet and the judge erm was not a fan... But third out of six and 5% off first place so at least I was not alone with harsh scoring.
Back out for our first medium
and thinking maybe I should wait for another day as by this point I was freezing and looked like I had pink breeches on
see through jods always a good look
. Decided to crack on, so entered at A, halted at X, trotted on turned left and promptly forgot where I was going!!! Sack the incredibly useless jockey
. A quick chat with the judge and we were off again
. Not too terrible, the extensions were a reach for a knees up carriage horse and she was a little taken aback about being asked to half pass so ended up a little (ok very) wibbly wobbly, but overall I was pleased but my riding was not good, argh sitting trot you are my nemesis.... Though I think the weather and an ancy Topaz was not helping the issue
.
However this judge was really encouraging, we got straight 6's for our half passes and extensions and a credible 61% which is a whole area festival sheet

. We scored higher in the medium than our elementary
maybe we should give up the elementary's lol.

Small update for the other beasties, Doodle is not going well
back on box rest to try and have one final push to resolve the fetlock issue and now also diagnosed with stomach ulcers

(Topaz the naughty bucky one is clear go figure
). Onto Skylla, she did her third in-hand show on Saturday and won

She then was suppose to have her wolf teeth removed yesterday, now my dentist saw them and recommended their removal, my vet has seen them and agreed one is very large so removing would be best. So he came, sedated her, got the gag on and a good ol' peer.... the vet with him also had a look, I was by this point a little concerned! As a couple of weeks ago Skylla had a kick to the head which made a lovely lump, (we are channelling our inner Arab
), so I was by this point thinking it must have caused some damage to the inside! But no, the wolf teeth have GONE

definitely no longer there???? Very glad he had seen them previously or how mad would I have looked
. My vet doesn't 'think' its related to the kick to the head as it wouldn't make sense from where the kick and the teeth are, so we are to keep an eye on her in case there are any fragments lurking but for now it all looks fine and at least it save me the extraction fee
.
He did remove a loose cap so got to take something out!
Tired after all the excitement and showing her lumpy bumpy head
Over and out!
PS sorry about the picture size Photobucket hates me!
