Hopefully I set the viewing jobby right and you can all see them. Not many coz she won't stand still!! :D

A few teething problems - mainly she is scared to walk on teh grass :( not a problem coz we can just walk her on roads etc for now and introduce grass slowly. She also chased the cats :o but knows the word NO and stopped, she won't do it once the big ginger one wallops her one :p

Shes so desperate to please and has climbed the stairs several times to investigate everything :) One other problem - who knew having one dog called Candy and one called Andy would ever be a problem? Poor Yellow Dog is a tad confused :D

Have just caught up on all the posts. What a lucky lady she is. I am afraid I have no time for people who just throw away the oldies, they deserve so much more.
Does Andy ever get randy with Candy? :D

Bless her! I guess, as low as her previous 'owners' may be, luckily for her they did advertise her on that site as opposed to just dumping her on the street or something. It certainly has worked out well for her hasn't it!

Oh bless you for offering her such a fab life, she looks lovely, I only jsut a few weeks ago placed a 9 year old retriever into a new home and they love her to death, her other owners had had her since she was a pup:confused:

She is so adorable! She had certainly landed on her feet, she loves people so much I just find it so hard to understand why her original owners let her go to such chavs in the first place. I am sure you will have lots of fun with her - I am sure she will soon learn that grass doesn't bite but cats do ;)

She looks like a real sweetie.

Candy is one very lucky girl. I'm sure she will sleep well tonight with a smile on her face

she looks like a lovely old girl...its so refreshing that you all got together to help this dog.....hope she is very happy with you(and you with her) well done!!:D:D

Well done, it is fantastic that you can offer her such a lovely home. Hopefully as she was only in her last home for a week she will settle in quickly. I recently rehomed a goldie and they are very special dogs.

They certainly are - we had Bear for 15 amazing years and while Candy wont be with us as long she's certainly not going anywhere else and hopefully will enjoy her 'retirement' with us :)

She is such a pretty lady. Do you know how old she is exactly?

I've just been reading about the latest intake of dogs to our animal shelter. I wish I had room for a third. There's a chi with a giant tumour (now removed) that was found in an abandoned apartment. Why do people think old dogs can be cast to one side like that? I'd like to swing for some of these no-marks.

Very well done. Lucky old goldie.

In case nobody else has added this link yet this was her ad on 10/11/2010, she seems to have been in her previous home for a few months, but apparantly only had one home before that.

11 yr old female, perfect family dog, does not a thing wrong, first will see will want. We have only had her a couple of months but cannot keep her as our dogs are driving her mad. She came from a family where she has been since a pup but the family sadly broke up so she had to be rehomed, we wish we could give her the same stability she had there but it's just not working out for her

Well done for finding that - I looked but couldn't find it - That makes it even worse - she is now in her 3rd (and Final :)) home in a matter of months. It also appears they hadn't even had her a week if the advert was on the 10th!

That could be the cached date, I can't see where I got the date from now. I did wonder if she could in fact be related to this ad below as well which relates to two bitches, but only lists one. Maybe one got rehomed and the ad was editted for the remaining one. Or maybe it isn't related at all and is just another older goldie girl!!!

I doubt it as that is Pembrokeshire and I can't imagine someone travelling that distance to rehome a dog

Oh but silly me but that not far off what was done today ;)

We nearly got a dog from even further away, but luckily rang again before travelling as she'd already been rehomed.

Goldies are lovely dogs, and I'm sure she'll have a lovely home with Zalacca.

She is lovely - congratulations on getting such a lovely girl and for giving her the home she deserves :). I hope we get to read lots of regular updates on the sweet girl.

**Update** Excuse typos must type fast work tracking internet today!!

Candy survived her first night :) I made the decision to leave her with my parents as Yellow Dog is rather in your face and she was getting a bit tired of him. Was a little worried as she'd bvecome v clingy to me but has happily changed her affections over to my mum. Was hoping she would take better to my dad but he seems happy enough with her - this is the first time he's had something to take him mind off his medical issues so all good :)

Minor accident last night - mum didn't realise she was asking to go out, she talks all the time lol but her "I need a wee NOW" is just a bit higher pitched so once that was figured out she was let out this morning with no problems. Still won't walk on the grass well but Mum bought her over to the yard this morning to pick Yellow Dog up and she had a hoon around so I led her into the walkway and she eventually walked on it ok but seemed happy to get back on to the hardcore surface.

Happy to share the boot with Yellow Dog this morning - told him off when his nose got too intrusive (typical bloke lol) Modelled her nice new collar as her old one was rather knackered and obv wasn't taken off very often.

Didnt know what she was on before so mum just grabbed a bag of light dog food for older dogs and we'll shop properly at the weekend. From her teeth I'd say shes been fed dry food so we'll keep witht hat for now - went down quick enough anyways!! :D

Again huge thanks to Carey and Jane for their work yesterday, she wouldnt be here now without it coz I dont think my truck would have made it that far.

Such a lovely story :) We had a Goldie and lost her last year at the age of 14 :( I can't even imagine how someone could pass on an old dog like that. Especially if they had her since she was a pup. I know situations change but to not vet the new home properly so she gets moved pillar to post :( Poor girl.
She looks very good for an elderly Goldie! Well done for taking her on :)

Another one who's just caught up with these threads and Im not ashamed to say Im sat here with a tear in my eye. It breaks your heart how people can treat their animals like this and thank goodness for the lovely ladies on here who stepped in to help Candy. Thank you for posting the pictures, she does indeed look like a beautiful old girl and now she has the home she deserves for her old age. Bless you all.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is so sad? Unless she is super quirky, this means she hasn't really had much fun time in her life doesn't it?

I was thinking the same :( Poor love but at least her life has turned a corner now. That expression on her face in the back of the car is utterly priceless :)
