I've lurked for a while, but I thought today was as good a day as any to introduce you to Dev, my 15.1 heinz 57 (or Sec D x TB x cleveland bay). I bought him last October, a pity buy really. He turned four in April and really our backing process only properly began in March when we moved yards where we now have fabulous facilities and other liveries.
He is the first horse I've backed myself so any tips and advice would be great! We long rein, lunge, hack and school (badly!) and generally just try and have fun. He is a real character, a true chestnut with a mind of his own but a real willing attitude. A quick learner and far too clever for his own good!
Hopefully you will see his progression through his education! I'm hoping he may make a bit more height as really I feel too big/tall for him, but we shall see! Pictures really don't capture his beauty, he's a striking boy with very arab-y features!!
:):)
Hope this link works :/

He really is, he's taken most things in his stride! Sometimes he plants and we will have to have a slight argument about who knows best, but mostly he's a really genuine horse :D! So lucky!

Oh wow, what a stunner! Just my type :D

You look fabulous on him and I wouldn't worry about size, he'll still have a bit of filling out to do, given his pedigree.

Thanks so much :D grinning like a cheshire cat now! As I'm not really the competitive or super brave type we haven't done any showing or anything so the only feedback I get on how he looks/is going are from people that know me, so I suppose they are quite biased and have to be nice! So it's nice to hear it from unbiased mouths!
I would like some feedback on his conformation but will have to post better pics for that, as I'm by no means an expert I'm intrigued to know what his 'flaws' (is that the right word, or defects?) are.
Thanks again everyone... I'm off to try and snoop looks at other peoples gorgeous horses. I've become familiar with a few through lurking, but it's such a busy place! :)
