When in Italy I was invited to meet Tito the Cane Corso and also Diego and his owner Stefano.

Stefano and Diego have the most amazing bond. He can call Diego from the other side of the field and Diego will run over broncing to him and he follows him around like a dog! I have never seen a horse SO happy to be around his owner.

He is ridden without a saddle and no bit, he is trained in a completely individual way but my goodness it seems to work!

Here's some photos, I hope you like.

He is absolutely divine!!! Fascinating that he's ridden with no bit or tack. That must be a very strong bond there.

Lovely photos, thanks for sharing. :)

Lovely horse, thanks for showing us the photos. I like the way he's knotted the 12ft line into the halter to make reins, much tidier than I manage.
(Aaargh! That's a carrot stick on the ground! ROFLMAO!).

That's the secret, they are often used just like lunge whips LOL! That is definitely a carrot stick (I've sold plenty of them in my past...) and probably a Parelli halter as well, judging by the position of the knots on the cheek. If he has taken some from Parelli then I think it just proves that it can be useful when used intelligently by a good horseman. :-)
(I'm surprised nobody has squeaked "wot no hat????" yet).

Very good point. There was no gimmickry in what he was doing, it looked like a horse who viewed him in very high regard and looked forward to being ridden and just being around him. I am anti gimmicky parelli where people simply frighten their horses. However as you say, when used by someone who has horse sense the results can be quite stunning.
I wish my horse liked me half as much!

WHAT???? No Hat! Shocking behaviour!! :D :D :D and with the addition of Carrot sticks and knots in the headcollers, just shocking :D :D :D

Lovely horse, I want him, he is a stunning colour and all round and gorgeous. yum and he looks very happy with his rider, clearly loves him a lot.

Oh he does! When he realised we were leaving he came belting up from the other side of the field, bucking and farting. But not for us, he thought his owner was going!!! :D
