Thanks to Kerilli, my mare now has a proper name!! Her stable name is angel (cringe) and so I am registering her as Evangelista - a lot nice nicer than 'chestnut filly' as she is currently known!!
Anyway, she is a 5yo 16.1hh chestnut TB mare. I got her in feb, in a crazy heart ruling head moment as I could not leave her where she was. She had a bad start in life and was pretty much unhandled until she was 4. She was then bought by someone who knew very little about the enigma that is the TB brain, contracted strangles, and was kept in her stable with top door shut for the best part of 4 months! She was then 'started' if you can call it that and quickly became unmanagable!! enter numpty me, looking for a project!!
First day at our yard
Condition was not good as you can see and she was very very nervous!!
Turned her out on good grazing with friends to let her remember how to be a horse, handled her daily and fed her twice a day for 4 months. Then very very quietly started to break her. It has been an uphill struggle, but she has now been backed for 2 months, is (mostly) going well and we are doing our first unaff dressage on 18th sept!!
Sorry for the mass of piccys, but I am so proud of her!! am going to get OH to take some ridden pics this week!!
Thanks for looking!
